I made this Breakfast parfait with some of the home made granola that I made last week. This is by far, the best way to eat granola. You may use any fruit of choice but I have made this using pomegranates, which are in season these days. Not only do they look so pretty, looking like little rubies on top of the yogurt, but they have innumerable health benefits as they are rich in antioxidants. Pomegranates are proved to help the LDL cholesterol under control and also help prevent heart disease. It is also considered a good remedy for women with menstrual disorders.
1 container non fat peach flavored yogurt(7 oz)
2 tbsp plain non fat yogurt
1 tsp honey
1/4 cup pomegranate pearls
1/2 cup home made granola
In a small glass, add about 1/3 of the yogurt. Top with about a tbsp of the pomegranat pearls. Top with 1/3rd of the granola. Repeat with yogurt, pomegranate pearls and granola.
I ran out of peach flavored yogurt for the topping, and used plain yogurt mixed with honey. It proved to be a delicious topping. Top with the remaining pomegranate pearls again.
Look, its nothing but assembly making this granola. Feel free to improvise. The probabilities are endless once you learn the formula.
Verdict: The combination of layer upon layer of crunchy granola on top of creamy yogurt sandwiched by sweet and healthy pomegranate pearls is just awesome! It was very filling and kept me going through the day until a 2 PM lunch. Powerful!!Pin It
