Avocado Milk/Milkshake

This might not be quite appealing from the name…but its been a great help to me. As with a lot of kids, my 15 month old son is a really poor eater. There are days where he just goes without eating anything at all..and you have no idea what that means to me…my reactions go anywhere from being on the verge of tears to the point where I just give up. But, the one thing he would have is milk, and I started figuring out of ways and means of doctoring milk. This avocado milk is not only a filling alternate that doubles as a substitute for plain milk, it has helped him out a lot with his health.

He was born with eczema and has very sensitive, dry skin…Having this avocado milk which is very rich in vitamin A and vitamin E and in good fats, has made his skin conditions much better. This is not so much a recipe, but a way of sharing and hoping it might help other moms who have finicky eaters in their kids. ūüôā

Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a tsp or so of vanilla or almond extract to make this a more decadent version for adults or older kids.

Ingredients:
1/2 large avocado
1/2 tsp sugar(optional)
1 cup organic whole milk

Method:
Place all the ingredients in a blender and whiz. I just put it all in my glass pyrex measuring cup and use my hand blender to blend it. (Lesser dishes to wash)

Verdict: Not a very attractive dish, but tasty and filling..for adults and kids alike.
